Intro to RDS (Red Dot Sight) Pistol Course

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This intro course is for students who are new to the RDS, it's designed to help them transition from iron sights to modern pistol-mounted RDS systems. Students will learn the advantage of target focus vs. front sight focus and how to best utilize the dot to become a more efficient and effective shooter. 

The majority of this course is spent on the range.

This course will cover the following:

• Types of optics and their pros/cons
• Types of dots and reticles
• Optic maintenance
• Optic mounting
• Zeroing your optic
• Posture and grip
• Dot acquisition methods
• Parallax
• Dot down procedures
• Techniques to train correction on your own

YOU WILL NEED

• A semi-automatic pistol with a mounted RDS properly installed to the optic's specification
  • NO REVOLVERS OR POCKET PISTOLS
• 3 magazines
• 300-350 rounds of factory range ammunition
• Eye and ear protection
• Appropriate range attire. No open-toed shoes and no low-cut clothing
