Illinois CCL for Military and Previously Trained Applicants

This course is for Military members and previously trained applicants ONLY. 

MILITARY REQUIREMENTS - NO EXCEPTIONS

• Valid Military ID (not expired) or a copy of your DD214 form
• Valid FOID card (not expired) 
• The name on your Military ID/DD214 should match the name on your FOID card

PREVIOUSLY TRAINED REQUIREMENTS

• Valid FOID card (not expired)
• Copy of approved training certificates/credit. Click here for the approved list
• The name on your FOID card should match the name on your training certificates or concealed carry permits. 

Because of your military background and/or previous training, it is expected that you know the fundamentals of shooting and apply proper gun safety rules at all times.

CURRICULUM

This 8-hour course will cover the following:

• Illinois FOID Act
• Illinois CCL Law
• Use of force
• Unlawful scenarios
• Range qualification firing at a target 5, 7 and 10 yards away (10 rounds from each distance)

YOU WILL NEED

• Your concealed carry semi-automatic pistol or revolver
• 50 rounds of factory range ammunition
• Eye and ear protection
• Appropriate range attire. No open-toed shoes and no low-cut clothing
