NRA BASICS OF RIFLE SHOOTING

This is a beginners rifle course. Students will receive the NRA Guide: Basics of Rifle Shooting handbook, take a Basics of Rifle Shooting Student Examination, qualify on the range and receive a course completion certificate. This course will cover the following:

• Essential gun safety rules
• Different types of rifles and their operations
• Rifle shooting fundamentals
• Different shooting positions
• Ammunition knowledge
• Misfire procedures
• Rifle selection and storage
• Proper rifle cleaning and maintenance
• Live fire training and qualification

YOU WILL NEED

• Bolt-action, semi-automatic, lever-action or slide-action rifle (if you do not have one, a rental is available*)
• 25 rounds of factory range ammunition (included with rental only)
• Eye and ear protection (included with rental only)
• Appropriate range attire. No open-toed shoes and no low-cut clothing

*Because this is an instruction class, a FOID card is not needed for rental
